Ethiopia, Somalia Reach Historic Peace Agreement

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced a historic agreement between Somalia and Ethiopia to resolve a nearly year-long dispute, following his mediation efforts in Ankara. The conflict arose after Ethiopia's unilateral deal with Somaliland for port access, which Somalia condemned as a violation of its territorial integrity. Both nations have now committed to cooperate towards common prosperity, with plans for technical negotiations to begin by February 2025.
