Man Arrested for Shooting 12-Year-Old on 210 Freeway San Bernardino

A 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg while riding in the backseat of a silver SUV on the 210 Freeway in San Bernardino. The shooting occurred around 2:30 p.m. on July 8, 2025, with multiple bullet holes found on the right rear side of the vehicle. The vehicle's occupants reported no prior road rage or disturbances that might have led to the shooting. Investigators linked the shooting to a separate firearm brandishing incident involving a gray 2010 Honda Civic, which was tracked using Flock Safety license plate readers to Victorville. Authorities arrested 24-year-old Geovanni Malik Patterson, recovering a loaded 9mm pistol beneath the driver’s seat. Patterson was booked on multiple charges including attempted murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and brandishing a firearm.
