Firefighters Battle 10-Acre Brush Fires Near Avondale, Angeles National Forest
Firefighters are currently battling two separate brush fires burning about 10 acres near 127th Avenue and Van Buren Street in the Agua Fria River bottom in Avondale. Multiple fire departments from surrounding cities are assisting the Avondale Fire and Medical Department in containing the blaze, which has not resulted in any injuries or immediate threats to homes. Residents in the area report that fires are common and suspect human activity, including the presence of tents and fireworks, as potential causes, although officials have not yet confirmed the origin. The flames were first reported around 6 p.m., and fire crews continue their efforts to control the situation. Meanwhile, a smaller wildfire called the Allen Fire is being fought near Palmdale in the Angeles National Forest, initially threatening structures but currently under control by Los Angeles County Fire Department and forest officials. Both incidents remain under active management with updates pending as conditions evolve.
