Wrong-Way Crash on I-495 Methuen Kills 1, Seriously Injures 1

One person was killed and another seriously injured in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 495 in Methuen early Sunday. Massachusetts State Police say troopers responded about 1:30 a.m. to the southbound side just north of Route 213 after a vehicle driving the wrong way struck a tractor-trailer head-on and then caught fire. One driver died and the other was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries; the victims' names have not been released. State police said the crash remains under investigation and no additional information has been released.
