Multiple Hit-and-Runs Kill, Injure in US and UK

Multiple recent hit-and-run incidents across the U.S. and U.K. have left several people dead or seriously injured and prompted active investigations. In Denver, a pedestrian was killed early Sunday in a hit-and-run at 16th and Market near the 16th Street Mall; the victim’s identity is pending confirmation by the medical examiner and no suspects have been named. In Santa Monica, a wrong-way vehicle on Wilshire Boulevard drove onto the sidewalk Friday night, killing two pedestrians and injuring two others; the vehicle remained but the driver fled on foot and is described as a Black male about 6 feet tall wearing a red hat and black sweater. In Camden, South Carolina, 57-year-old Joseph Hudson was killed after being struck on W. Dekalb St.; authorities are investigating and seeking witnesses. A bicyclist in Durham was critically injured Friday evening and is hospitalized while police probe the incident. In Edinburgh, a car being pursued by police struck a 47-year-old man at the Liberton Road/Gilmerton Road junction at lunchtime; occupants fled and Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam or CCTV footage.
