Seattle Added to National June Weather Shift
As summer approaches, weather across the United States is shifting from early June's cooler and variable patterns to warmer, more typical summer conditions. Seattle's prolonged dry and sunny period is ending, with cooler temperatures and overdue rainfall expected by the solstice, though drought and wildfire risks persist due to low snowpack. The Bay Area is transitioning from persistent overcast and cool 'June gloom' to brief warmth, another cooldown, and a return to seasonal averages amid continued volatility. In the Northeast, Massachusetts and Maine are entering a period of rising temperatures, humidity, and scattered showers and storms before a surge of summer heat. Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, after a cool and wet start to June, are forecast to experience the hottest days of the year with temperatures soaring into the 90s. Overall, much of the country is moving toward warmer-than-average conditions, increased humidity, and the need for heat precautions as summer begins.
