Netflix Orders Dan Levy, Rachel Sennott Crime Comedy Series

Netflix has ordered a new eight-episode family crime comedy series co-created by and starring Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott, set to go into production in 2025. The untitled series follows two deeply incapable siblings, played by Levy and Taylor Ortega, who are blackmailed into organized crime, with Laurie Metcalf portraying their mother. This project marks Levy's first scripted series creation since his Emmy-winning show "Schitt's Creek" and is part of his overall deal with Netflix under his Not a Real Production Company banner. The series experienced casting changes, with Ortega securing the sister role after Sennott prioritized another HBO project, and underwent a writers' room overhaul before receiving its official greenlight. Levy expressed enthusiasm about the project and the team assembled, highlighting Ortega's rising talent and his excitement to work with Metcalf.
