Man Arrested After Derry House Fire Causes Multiple Evacuations
A fire broke out at a house in the Brandywell area of Derry, specifically Bluebell Hill Gardens, around 11pm on July 21, causing significant smoke and fire damage but no injuries. Emergency services evacuated several neighboring properties to manage the blaze, and residents were later allowed to return to their homes. A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and remains in custody. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage to assist in the investigation. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire, and authorities continue to investigate the incident. The public can report information anonymously through police or Crimestoppers channels.
