Eyes of Wakanda Debuts First Female Iron Fist

Marvel Animation’s 'Eyes of Wakanda,' a four-episode animated series executive produced by Ryan Coogler and directed by Todd Harris, will premiere on Disney+ on August 1. The series follows the Hatut Zeraze, elite Wakandan warriors retrieving stolen Vibranium artifacts from enemies across history. Notably, the show introduces the first female Iron Fist, voiced by Jona Xiao, alongside voice talent such as Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, and Anika Noni Rose. Set within the main MCU timeline (Earth-616), the series is considered canon and connects to the broader Black Panther legacy. All episodes will be released at once, sparking discussion about Disney+'s release model and its effects on the show's promotion. 'Eyes of Wakanda' is also the first project from Coogler's Proximity Media under a new TV deal with Disney, with more Wakanda-themed content in development.
