Torrential rain and landslides in Bosnia and Herzegovina resulted in at least 14 fatalities and left many missing as of October 4. The municipality of Jablanica, about 70 km southwest of Sarajevo, was particularly hard hit, becoming completely isolated due to destroyed road and railway links. Rescue operations are underway with the involvement of civil protection units, the Red Cross, and the army, which has deployed waterborne troops to reach affected areas. Darko Jukan, a government spokesperson, indicated that the death toll may rise as additional rescue efforts continue. Neighboring regions, including Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia, have also issued severe weather warnings as heavy rains persist. Drone footage revealed widespread devastation, showing submerged towns and damaged infrastructure across the region.
