Bristol Bears extend Harry Byrne's loan until 2025
Bristol Bears have extended Irish fly-half Harry Byrne's loan from Leinster until the end of the 2024/25 season, as the team aims for a place in the Gallagher Premiership play-offs. Since joining in January as injury cover for AJ MacGinty, Byrne has made six appearances and scored 36 points. Director of Rugby Pat Lam praised Byrne's contributions on and off the field, noting the importance of squad depth as they approach the end of the season. MacGinty is recovering from a knee injury and is expected to return soon, adding further competition for the starting position. The Bears currently sit second in the league and are looking forward to a strong finish to the season. Byrne has also represented Ireland internationally, adding valuable experience to the squad.
