Meghalaya Launches CM IMPACT Education Initiative

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has launched the 'CM IMPACT' initiative aimed at improving the state's low pass rates in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination, which average around 53%. The program will address educational challenges by upgrading school infrastructure, providing digital guidebooks for students and teachers, and ensuring intranet connectivity at the block level. Significant disparities in pass rates, with some districts as low as 25% and 36 schools recording zero pass rates for three consecutive years, necessitated this initiative. The program includes a plan for supplementary examinations to allow students to improve their marks without losing an academic year. Sangma emphasized the need for regular stakeholder meetings and urged teachers to identify and support students' weaknesses. This comprehensive approach reflects the government's commitment to making quality education accessible throughout the state.
