Capitol Music Group Names Candice Watkins President of Nashville Division
Capitol Music Group has reorganized its Nashville operations by creating Capitol Music Group Nashville, which consolidates Capitol Records Nashville and Capitol Christian Music Group under one division. Candice Watkins, formerly senior vice president of marketing at Big Loud Records, has been appointed president of Capitol Records Nashville and executive vice president of Capitol Christian Music Group, bringing extensive experience working with notable country and Christian artists. Artists previously signed to Capitol Records Nashville will remain with the newly rebranded MCA Nashville label, while Watkins will focus on signing and developing new country talent for Capitol Records Nashville. Capitol Christian Music Group, which includes Motown Gospel and Tamla, will continue to be led by longtime president Brad O’Donnell. The new Nashville division is headquartered in a 40,000-square-foot space in the Wedgewood Houston area, featuring state-of-the-art recording and performance facilities, with support from Capitol Tower in Los Angeles. This reorganization reflects Capitol Music Group's commitment to strengthening Nashville as a creative hub for Christian, gospel, and country music.
