Massachusetts ICE Arrest Sparks Violent Protest, Councilor Accused of Inciting Chaos

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrest in Worcester, Massachusetts, targeting Ferreira de Oliveira, accused of violent crimes and illegal entry, sparked chaos as about 25 protesters attempted to obstruct the operation. The protest included de Oliveira's daughter, who endangered a child by standing in front of an ICE vehicle while holding a baby and was subsequently arrested on multiple charges. Ashley Spring, a local school board candidate, also participated in the protest and faces assault charges. Law enforcement described the scene as violent and chaotic, with officers facing threats and physical assaults amid chants opposing the arrest. Authorities condemned the involvement of elected officials in the unrest, emphasizing the risks posed to public safety and the rule of law.
