Delhi Unveils Tech-Focused 2025 Pollution Plan

Delhi has launched the Air Pollution Mitigation Plan 2025, introducing advanced technology and regulatory changes to address the city's air quality crisis. The plan mandates that only BS-VI, CNG, or electric commercial vehicles will be allowed from November 2025, enforced by ANPR cameras preventing non-compliant vehicles from entering the city. Dust and construction pollution will be managed through mandatory anti-smog guns, water sprinklers, and rooftop sprinkler systems on high-rise buildings, along with strict compliance at construction sites. The government will not reintroduce the odd-even traffic scheme, instead focusing on innovations like cloud seeding, smart traffic systems, and AI-powered pollution monitoring. Public engagement is emphasized, with support for Resident Welfare Associations and a ₹300 crore budget for pollution control. The initiatives were presented at Urban Adda 2025 and Aironomics-2025, underscoring a broader push for clean mobility, gender equity, and economic growth through environmental action.
