Golden Spikes Award Semifinalists Announced for 2025

USA Baseball announced the 25 semifinalists for the 2025 Golden Spikes Award, recognizing the top amateur baseball players in the country. Notable semifinalists include LSU pitcher Kade Anderson, who is second nationally in strikeouts and led LSU with a complete-game shutout, as well as Oregon State shortstop Aiva Arquette for his offensive and defensive contributions. Georgia Tech's Drew Burress and Kyle Lodise, Alabama's Justin Lebron, and Texas freshman closer Dylan Volantis also earned nominations. Anderson's selection marks LSU's 18th all-time semifinalist, while Burress and Volantis set school and SEC records, respectively. Fan voting for the semifinalists is open until May 28, with finalists to be announced June 4 and the winner on June 21 before the Men's College World Series finals. This year's list features historic representation for several college programs.
