Apple Plans Vision Pro Upgrade With M4 Chip

Apple is planning to release an updated Vision Pro headset as early as 2025, upgrading from the M2 to the M4 processor to enhance AI capabilities and performance. The new model will feature a redesigned strap to reduce head and neck discomfort, although significant weight reduction is not expected at this stage. The price is set to remain at $3,499, which may continue to limit widespread consumer adoption. This update is viewed as an interim refresh, with a lighter, more affordable redesign projected for 2027. Apple is also reportedly working on a tethered enterprise-focused version and developing smart AR glasses for future release. The updated headset will debut alongside visionOS 26, introducing features such as virtual widgets and eye-scrolling.
