Minneapolis Teachers' Union Faces Pressure to Cancel Herzallah Event

Herzallah, affiliated with American Muslims for Palestine, is scheduled to speak at a seminar titled 'Being an Educator in a Time of War and Genocide.' Frey, who is Jewish, criticized the union for hosting someone he described as a 'notorious antisemitic activist,' emphasizing that schools should promote unity and not hatred. The Minnesota Jewish community has echoed Frey's concerns, calling Herzallah's comments unacceptable. In his defense, Herzallah claims his remarks were taken out of context and were directed at Zionists rather than the Jewish community as a whole. The teachers' union has announced plans to meet and discuss the situation amid the backlash.
