Udinese Secures Zaniolo, Gueye Loans Before Serie A Window Deadline
Udinese has bolstered its squad ahead of the Serie A season by securing two significant loan signings on the transfer deadline day: Nicolò Zaniolo from Galatasaray and Idrissa Gueye from Metz. Zaniolo, a 26-year-old attacking midfielder and former Italian international, returns to Serie A on a loan deal with options for Udinese to purchase him permanently, either with a partial sell-on clause for €5 million or full ownership for €10 million. His time at Galatasaray was limited, with only 16 appearances, and his career has been hampered by injuries, but he remains a player with high potential. Gueye, a promising 19-year-old forward, joined Udinese initially on loan with a mandatory purchase clause valued around €10 million, after impressing at Metz with five goals and one assist in 23 appearances. Both deals were finalized in the final moments of the transfer window, demonstrating Udinese’s commitment to strengthening their squad with young talent. These acquisitions are seen as a statement of intent for the club’s ambitions in the coming season.
