Two Arrested After NYPD Officer Robbery, Connecticut Chase Injures Several

Two separate police chases in Connecticut resulted in arrests and injuries. In Stamford, two suspects linked to the robbery of an off-duty NYPD officer led police on a dangerous pursuit involving wrong-way driving and multiple collisions, including one with a state trooper's cruiser; the trooper and three others sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects abandoned their vehicle on the Merritt Parkway and were later apprehended hiding in a yard. In New Haven, officers spotted a suspicious vehicle illegally parked; after a brief struggle, the driver fled, leading to a pursuit ended by stop sticks in front of the police headquarters. No illicit substances were found in the vehicle, but a bag containing narcotics was recovered nearby for testing. The driver, Laquida Lennon, and passenger, Kai Stewart, were charged with various offenses including interfering with officers and engaging in a police pursuit, and both were released on bail.
