Medical examinations confirmed fractures to the child's fingers, and surveillance footage captured interactions between Merrell and the child. The child later told his father that his teacher broke his fingers, and Merrell admitted to using 'pressure as a technique for de-escalation.' Merrell is no longer employed by Pflugerville ISD, and the case is under investigation by CPS and the district police.
