Apple Launches M5 in MacBook Pro, iPad, Vision Pro

Apple launched M5-powered 14-inch MacBook Pro and M5 iPad Pro worldwide this month, with India pricing starting at Rs 1,69,900 for the 14-inch MacBook Pro and the iPad Pro near Rs 99,900 (education discounts available). Retailers offered small launch-day discounts—Amazon listed $15 off the 14-inch MacBook Pro and $15–$20 off the iPad Pro—while Best Buy and the Apple Store remained at full price. Apple says the M5 brings faster CPU/GPU performance, per-core Neural Accelerators, an improved 16-core Neural Engine, much faster SSD throughput, up to 3.5× faster on-device AI and extended battery life versus M4 and M1. Independent benchmarks and reviews report double-digit CPU gains and especially large GPU and SSD improvements, making the M5 an incremental but meaningful upgrade for professionals and power users. Apple also refreshed the Vision Pro with M5 and visionOS 26, sharper rendering (~10% more pixels), hardware-accelerated ray tracing, a redesigned band and pre-orders starting at $3,499. Budget-conscious buyers can still find steeply discounted refurbished older Macs (for example a refurbished M1 MacBook Air 8GB/512GB listed at $399.99), and reviewers recommend buying high-ticket items from reputable sellers.
