Colombian Woman Dies After Falling Overboard

Jessica Andrea Gómez Granda, a 28-year-old Colombian national, tragically fell overboard from the MSC Virtuosa cruise ship on October 12 while sailing to Southampton. After a major search operation coordinated by the French Coastguard, her body was recovered near Alderney, and she was later pronounced dead by medical personnel. The Colombian consulate has confirmed her identity and notified her family, while investigations led by French authorities are ongoing. UK authorities questioned her husband and witnesses upon the ship's arrival in Southampton, determining there was no reason to detain him.
