Austin Explosion Injures 6, Damages 24 Homes
An explosion in northwest Austin, Texas, on Sunday resulted in six injuries and significant damage to at least 23 homes. The blast, which was audible from over 15 miles away, occurred shortly after 11 a.m. at a residence on Double Spur Loop, where the house was completely leveled and a neighboring home suffered severe damage. Emergency responders confirmed that two individuals were critically injured, while others sustained minor injuries, including two firefighters. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, although authorities noted the house had propane tanks and there are no underground gas lines in the area. All residents have been accounted for, and efforts are ongoing to clear debris and assist affected families.
