EU Aviation Agency Lifts Flight Restrictions on Israel

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has lifted all flight restrictions and advisories for Israeli airspace following a period of heightened tensions and missile attacks linked to the conflict between Israel and Iran. The initial warnings, issued in June amid Operation Rising Lion and retaliatory missile launches from Iran, led many European airlines to avoid Israeli airspace or suspend flights to Israel. The easing of hostilities, culminating in a ceasefire, has prompted EASA to remove warnings and allow airlines to resume normal operations, restoring Israel's connectivity in global aviation. Although risks remain in surrounding regions such as Sinai, northern Saudi Arabia, and Iran’s airspace, EASA emphasizes ongoing vigilance by airlines. Western governments, including the United States and the United Kingdom, have also downgraded travel advisories for Israel, signaling improved security conditions. Transportation officials highlighted the significance of this development for the resumption of international flights, although some carriers are taking a cautious approach due to seasonal scheduling changes.
