'The Office' Spin-off 'The Paper' Set for Peacock

'The Paper,' the first spin-off of 'The Office,' will premiere exclusively on Peacock in September 2025. The mockumentary series, created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman with executive producers Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, follows the original documentary crew as they cover The Truth Teller, a historic Toledo, Ohio newspaper undergoing a corporate revival. Domhnall Gleeson plays the idealistic new publisher, Sabrina Impacciatore the managing editor, and Oscar Nuñez reprises his role as accountant Oscar Martinez. The show highlights the challenges of reviving local journalism in the digital era, with untrained staff stepping in as reporters amid budget constraints. The series was unveiled at NBC’s Upfront event as part of Peacock’s strategy to attract subscribers. Additional cast members include Chelsea Frei and Melvin Gregg.
