Fire on Thai School Bus Kills 23
A tragic bus fire in Pathum Thani, a suburb of Bangkok, has left at least 23 people dead, most of whom are believed to be children. The bus, carrying 44 passengers including students and teachers, caught fire after a suspected tire explosion caused it to collide with a barrier. Of the passengers, 19 survived, but many bodies remain unidentifiable due to severe burns. Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit has raised concerns over the use of compressed natural gas in buses, deeming it 'extremely risky.' Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has expressed her condolences and pledged government support for the victims' families. The incident has sparked calls for an investigation into vehicle safety and regulations surrounding passenger transport.
