San Diego Padres Place Fernando Tatis Jr. on Injured List Retroactive to June 22

San Diego Padres star right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a right femoral stress reaction, retroactive to June 22. Tatis has been struggling with quadriceps issues for several weeks and was recently hit by a pitch on his left elbow, causing him to miss two games. The injury might keep him sidelined until after the All-Star break. Tatis, who leads the Padres with 14 home runs and won the NL Gold Glove and Platinum Glove awards last year, will require rest to recover. Additionally, Padres pitcher Yu Darvish is dealing with elbow inflammation and will not start as planned. The team has recalled several players from Triple-A to fill the roster gaps.
