Practical Magic 2 Recasts Key Role for Sequel
Warner Bros. has begun production on 'Practical Magic 2,' set for theatrical release on September 18, 2026, with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reprising their roles as the Owens sisters. Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing return as their aunts, with Joey King joining as Sally’s daughter and Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod in undisclosed roles. Susanne Bier directs, with a script by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett, and Bullock and Kidman also act as producers. Evan Rachel Wood, who played Sally’s daughter in the original, was not asked to return for the sequel, as her role is being recast. The film is expected to draw inspiration from later installments in Alice Hoffman’s Practical Magic series. Plot details remain under wraps, but the sequel aims to appeal to both longtime fans and new audiences.
