Three students from Bahra University in Himachal Pradesh's Solan district were arrested for allegedly ragging a first-year MBA student, Rajat Kumar, who reported being forcibly taken to a room where he was assaulted and pressured to consume alcohol. The disturbing incident was captured in a viral video showing senior students physically abusing the victim, including beatings with a belt. Following Kumar's complaint, which he initially filed with university management, a police investigation led to the arrest of Karan Dogra, Chirag Rana, and Divyansh, all aged 19, who have since been expelled from the university. The authorities have registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the HP Educational Institutions (Prohibition of Ragging) Act. The incident has sparked outrage among students and parents, who are demanding further action to prevent future occurrences of such violence.
