Oakland Athletics Confirm Sacramento Move Through 2027

Despite recent speculation and concerns raised by prominent sports agent Scott Boras, Major League Baseball (MLB) has affirmed that the Oakland Athletics (A's) will play their 2025 season in West Sacramento at Sutter Health Park. Boras suggested the new ownership of the Oakland Coliseum might negotiate to keep the team temporarily, but MLB has begun renovations at Sutter Health Park, including a new clubhouse and other facilities, and insists that the move is certain. While MLB and the MLB Players Association (MLBPA) are still negotiating the specifics of the transition, the MLBPA does not have the authority to veto the move. The A's are expected to play in Sacramento through at least 2027 before relocating to Las Vegas.
