Former Manager Harry Redknapp Launches UK Sepsis Awareness Campaign

Harry Redknapp, former Tottenham Hotspur manager and winner of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, has launched the 'It’s Game On For Sepsis' campaign for the UK Sepsis Trust after his wife Sandra survived sepsis in 2018. The campaign aims to raise awareness about sepsis, a life-threatening condition that claims 48,000 lives annually in the UK and affects 245,000 people, often causing multiple organ failure. Redknapp encourages the public to become 'sepsis savvy' through the Sepsis Savvy Shootout, an online game that also offers a chance to meet him. Dr. Ron Daniels, founder and chief medical officer of the UK Sepsis Trust, highlighted the importance of community support in raising awareness of sepsis. The NHS warns that sepsis symptoms can mimic flu or chest infections, making early detection difficult, and advises immediate medical attention if sepsis is suspected. The campaign’s prize draw ends on September 30, but the online game will remain available as an educational resource.
