The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will begin issuing online permissions for Ganpati mandals starting August 6, charging a fee of Rs 100 for pandal construction. Mandals that have adhered to government regulations for the past decade will receive permits for five consecutive years, but must renew their permits annually by obtaining no-objection certificates from local authorities. The initiative aims to streamline the process through a computerized single-window system, ensuring efficiency and compliance with eco-friendly guidelines. Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations are set to commence on September 7, with significant preparations underway. Additionally, the Maharashtra government is set to distribute food kits to nearly 1.70 crore people in connection with the festival, further enhancing community support and engagement.
