Viper Energy Reports Q1 Earnings, Boosts Production Guidance Following Acquisition
Viper Energy Inc. reported strong first-quarter 2025 results, exceeding earnings expectations with adjusted EPS of $0.54 and operating income of $245 million, driven by higher oil and gas production volumes. The company also surpassed production guidance, reaching 31,311 barrels of oil per day and turning 442 gross horizontal wells to production. Notably, Viper completed a major acquisition from parent company Diamondback Energy, which is expected to significantly boost its production profile and led to an upgraded investment grade rating from Fitch. For Q1, Viper declared a total base-plus-variable dividend of $0.57 per share, representing a 5.4% annualized yield and returned 75% of cash available for distribution to shareholders. Looking ahead, Viper projects full-year 2025 average daily production of up to 43,500 barrels of oil and maintains a strong financial position with leverage below 1.0x and net debt of $1.0 billion. Analysts remain optimistic, with most rating Viper as 'Outperform' and price targets suggesting potential upside for investors.
