YouTube TV Increases Subscription Price Amid Dissatisfaction

YouTube TV has announced a significant price increase, raising its monthly subscription from $72.99 to $82.99, effective January 13, 2025, for existing customers and immediately for new ones. The company attributes this hike to rising content costs and investments to enhance service quality, a move that has sparked dissatisfaction among subscribers. Despite the price increase, YouTube TV maintains its offering of over 100 channels, unlimited DVR storage, and multiple user accounts per household. Promotions and trials will remain unaffected by the new pricing. This change follows a previous increase in March 2023 and highlights the service's ongoing adjustments due to content negotiations with major broadcasters. Many customers are reconsidering their subscriptions, citing the service's escalating costs since its inception at $35 per month in 2017.
