University of Mobile Mourns Freshman Kaiden Francis

The University of Mobile is mourning the tragic death of freshman basketball player Kaiden Francis, who collapsed on campus and was pronounced dead despite attempts to save him. School officials, including President Charles Smith, expressed deep sorrow and emphasized the need for community support and prayer during this difficult time. Classes were canceled to allow students to grieve and participate in a campus-wide prayer service. In a separate incident, a 15-year-old basketball player from Tamil Nadu, Elena Laurette, died after experiencing abdominal discomfort and vomiting upon returning from a tournament in Madhya Pradesh. She was taken to a hospital but was declared dead shortly after. Authorities are awaiting the autopsy report to determine the cause of her death.
