Kannada Film Industry Seeks Probe, Radhika Incident

A delegation from the Kannada film industry met Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to request the formation of a committee, headed by a retired judge, to probe widespread sexual harassment allegations within the industry. The appeal follows the Hema Committee Report in Kerala, which led to the formation of a Special Investigation Team. The Kannada film fraternity, including top actors and members of the Film Industry for Rights and Equality (FIRE), emphasized the need for comprehensive measures to address these systemic issues. Meanwhile, actress Radhika Sarathkumar disclosed a traumatic incident involving hidden cameras in her changing room on a film set, prompting concern from actor Mohanlal. This incident has added further urgency to calls for better protections for women in the film industry.
