Centro Cultural Aztlan Opens FOTOSEPTIEMBRE Exhibit Celebrating Latino Culture

San Antonio's Centro Cultural Aztlan is hosting the "FotoSeptiembre: Celebrating Latino Culture and Community" photography exhibit, curated by Dr. Ricardo Romo, which highlights the rich history, identity, and spirit of the Latino community through powerful images capturing social movements, migrations, and cultural traditions. Romo, a longtime art enthusiast and photographer, contributed two previously unseen photos of Cesar Chavez that hold personal significance, reflecting his deep ties to the community and its cultural documentation. The exhibit aims to bridge cultural understanding by making visible the everyday life and values of the Westside community, an area historically underserved in arts funding compared to other parts of the city. This initiative is part of a broader effort to support and celebrate Latino culture and heritage in San Antonio through visual storytelling. The exhibit runs through September 25 and is located at Centro Cultural Aztlan on Fredericksburg Road.
