UK Vietnam Sign Pact to Accelerate Deportation Illegal Migrants

The United Kingdom has reached its strongest ever migration agreement with Vietnam to accelerate the return of Vietnamese nationals with no legal right to reside in the UK. This new deal aims to reduce the processing time for repatriation documents by up to 75% initially, and potentially up to 90%, facilitating a significant increase in removals that could be fourfold. Signed by Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Vietnamese Communist Party chief To Lam at Downing Street, the agreement also includes enhanced biometric data sharing, intensified intelligence cooperation to dismantle criminal networks, and public messaging to deter illegal migration. Starmer emphasized that international cooperation is key to effectively managing illegal migration and praised the deal as a way to protect UK borders and reduce taxpayer costs.
