Skater Naumov Honors Parents in Emotional Tribute
Maxim Naumov, a figure skater, has opened up about the tragic loss of his parents, Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov, who were killed in a plane crash on January 29 when an American Airlines flight collided with a Black Hawk helicopter over Washington, D.C. The accident resulted in the deaths of 67 people, including 28 members of the figure skating community. Shishkova and Naumov, former Russian Olympians and world champions, had moved to the U.S. to coach and raise their son. Before the crash, they had switched flights and informed their son of their travel plans. Maxim Naumov, who is now an alternate for the U.S. national team, is determined to honor his parents' legacy and continues to skate with renewed passion and dedication. He performed a heartfelt tribute at the “Legacy on Ice” event, expressing that he now moves forward with the strength of three people.
