Greece's Athanasios Ghavelas Wins Gold Again

Greece achieved a remarkable performance at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, securing a total of 13 medals, including three golds. Notably, Athanasios Ghavelas defended his title in the Men’s 100m T11, becoming the first Greek Paralympian to win consecutive golds, clocking in at 11.02 seconds. Nasos Gavelas also shone as he won gold in the same event, solidifying his status as a world champion and record holder. Other medalists included Thanasis Konstantinidis, who won gold in shot put (F32), and Alexandra Stamatopoulou, who triumphed in the 50m backstroke (S4) in her final competition. Greece's medal tally also boasts three silver and seven bronze medals from various sports. The Closing Ceremony featured Stamatopoulou and Tsapatakis as flagbearers, highlighting Greece's impressive representation and achievements at the Games.
