Oman Launches 10-Year Golden Residency to Boost Foreign Investment

Oman has launched a new 10-year Golden Residency program aimed at attracting foreign capital and specialized talent through seven investment routes, each requiring a minimum investment starting from RO 200,000. The program offers long-term residency to investors and skilled professionals, including their first-degree family members without limitations on number or age, to support private-sector growth, job creation, and knowledge transfer aligned with Oman Vision 2040. Eligible investment routes include company establishment, property ownership in Integrated Tourism Complexes, government development bonds, listed equities, fixed bank deposits, companies employing over 50 Omanis, and foreign investment law companies nominating partners or senior professionals. The launch event was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, and included the introduction of additional initiatives such as the Elite Companies Initiative and a commercial registration ownership transfer service on the Oman Business Platform. Oman currently offers two investment residency programs with varying thresholds and durations, but the new Golden Residency program simplifies processes and broadens eligibility to enhance the country's appeal to international investors. These efforts are part of Oman’s broader strategy to create a sustainable business environment and strengthen sectors such as construction through strategic cooperation agreements.
