Apollo Global Acquires Hav Energy LNG Platform from HitecVision

Apollo Global Management has agreed to acquire Hav Energy LNG Holding from Norwegian private equity firm HitecVision, marking a significant expansion into maritime liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure. Hav Energy, founded in 2022, holds a portfolio of 10 LNG carriers—two operational and eight under construction in Korea—fully contracted on long-term charters with investment-grade clients. The acquisition is positioned to benefit from robust global LNG demand, which is projected to surpass 600 million metric tons annually by 2040, fueled by growth in Asia and Europe and the drive to reduce emissions in heavy industry and transportation. Apollo executives describe the deal as a means to support energy resiliency and view LNG as a 'bridge fuel' for the energy transition. Hav Energy's CEO sees the transaction as an opportunity to expand capabilities and build a next-generation LNG carrier fleet. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
