Man Arrested for Attempted Carjacking in East Haven

William Rodriguez, 28, was arrested after attempting to carjack a pregnant woman at a Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru in East Haven, Connecticut. Rodriguez parked his stolen 2016 Hyundai Elantra in front of the victim's car and demanded her keys, punching her when she refused. The woman escaped and sought help inside the restaurant, where employees intervened and restrained Rodriguez until police arrived. During his arrest, Rodriguez bit a medic's hand. He faces multiple charges, including assault on a pregnant person, robbery, and larceny, and is being held on a $250,000 bond. Rodriguez also had outstanding warrants totaling $475,000.
