Man Charged After Stealing Spectrum Boom Truck

Frank Lynn Moody has been charged with multiple offenses after stealing a Spectrum boom truck while a technician was working in the bucket, causing significant disruption and injuries. The incident occurred in Lenoir, North Carolina, where Moody drove off, knocking down utility lines and breaking a pole, leading to widespread outages. The technician fell from the bucket but only sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Moody, who had been released from jail just hours before the incident, drove the truck with its boom extended, hitting several lines before crashing. The highway was closed for over 12 hours for repairs. Moody faces charges including larceny of a motor vehicle, felony assault with a deadly weapon, and injuring utility fixtures.
