Rishabh Pant is poised to be named the new captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, following his acquisition for a record INR 27 crore during the mega auction. His appointment comes after KL Rahul's tenure, where he led the team to the playoffs in their initial seasons but was replaced after a disappointing seventh-place finish in 2024. Pant's leadership experience includes a previous stint with the Delhi Capitals, where he faced challenges that led him to seek a new opportunity. The upcoming announcement is expected to take place at a press conference at the RPSG headquarters in Kolkata, where LSG may also unveil a new jersey.
