Raducanu Maintains Informal Coaching With Petchey, O’Donoghue

Emma Raducanu has chosen to continue working with Mark Petchey, former coach of Andy Murray, on an informal, week-to-week basis, rather than appointing a permanent coach. Petchey, who joined her team at the Miami Open, supported her as she achieved her best result since her 2021 US Open win by reaching the quarter-finals, and will assist her at the Madrid Open as his broadcasting schedule permits. Raducanu, who has cycled through seven coaches in under four years, values the trust and familiarity Petchey offers and also relies on longtime mentor Jane O’Donoghue for guidance. She has emphasized the importance of being surrounded by trusted individuals and prioritizes her well-being and development within this relaxed set-up.
