Statesville Man Killed in Iredell County ATV Crash, Alcohol Suspected

A 25-year-old man from Statesville, Seth Allen Paynter, died in an ATV crash in Iredell County early Sunday morning. He lost control of his 2019 Polaris RZR on Saw Mills Road near Union Grove Road, causing the vehicle to cross the center line, veer off the road, and overturn. Paynter was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, leading to his death at the scene. Initial investigations by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol indicate that alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
