Four Injured in Stamford Harbor Boat Collision
Four people were injured late Saturday night when a center-console boat collided with the Stamford Harbor break wall. The incident was reported to dispatchers at 9:59 p.m. via an automated iPhone alert. Two female passengers with the most serious injuries were transported by boat and ambulance to Stamford Hospital, while two male occupants were treated at Czescik Marina after efforts to prevent the boat from sinking failed. Emergency responders included Stamford Police, Noroton Fire Department, and Darien Police Department Marine Units. Deputy Fire Chief Philip Hayes emphasized boating safety at night, advising the use of lifejackets, slower speeds, vigilant lookouts, and navigational aids. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
