Taylor Sheridan Entrusts Texas State University with Creative Archive
Taylor Sheridan, the Academy Award-nominated screenwriter and creator known for "Yellowstone" and its related series, is donating his creative archive to Texas State University's Wittliff Collections. The archive, which will be released in stages starting later this year, includes drafts and papers from his films "Sicario," "Hell or High Water," "Wind River," as well as pilot episodes from "Yellowstone," "1883," and "1923." Sheridan, a Texas native who studied theater at Texas State in the 1990s, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the university this spring. The Wittliff Collections, dedicated to preserving Southwestern literature, film, and culture, will provide an important resource for scholars and creatives to study Sheridan's impactful storytelling that embodies the spirit of Texas and reshapes the mythology of the American West. University officials expressed honor and excitement about preserving Sheridan's legacy on campus for future generations, highlighting his rise from actor to acclaimed writer and producer. This donation deepens Sheridan's ties to his alma mater and the cultural heritage of the region.
